Dr Sandra Achten has been employed as a member of the administrative staff at the President’s Office since 1 August 2026.
Dr Marcel Danner, Akademischer Rat with fixed-term appointment into civil service at the Institute of Classical and Ancient Studies, will be employed from 1 October 2026 until the post is permanently filled, but no later than 31 March 2027, in the post of a university professor in pay grade W2 in Classical Archaeology.
Lukas Dobliar-Blank has been appointed into civil service as a Regierungssekretäranwärter at the University of Würzburg with effect from 1 September 2026, on a revocable civil service appointment.
Clarissa Galinski has been employed by the Family Services department since 17 August 2026.
Dr Guinevere Giffin, a member of the academic staff at the Chair of Inorganic Chemistry III, has been granted venia legendi in the subject area of Materials Science with effect from 11 August 2026.
At its meeting on 28 July 2026, the Senate elected Prof. Dr Antje Gohla (Faculty of Medicine) as the University Women’s Representative at the University of Würzburg. She succeeds Prof. Dr Helga Stopper; her term of office runs from 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2027.
Carlos Gonzalez del Rey has been employed in the Central Administration at the Examinations Office since 17 August 2026.
PD Dr Stephanie Höllinger, research assistant, University of Mainz, will be employed on a temporary basis from 1 October 2026 until the post is permanently filled, but no later than 30 September 2027, in the post of university professor (W 3) in Theological Ethics – Moral Theology.
Dr Viktor Hartung, Oberarzt and Head of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Radiology, Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, has been granted venia legendi in the subject area of Radiology with effect from 3 August 2026.
Dr Dagmar Kiesel, Associate Professor, FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, will be employed on a temporary basis in the post of university professor of the History of Philosophy for the duration of Professor Dr Dag Nikolaus Hasse’s research leave, from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Dr Gudrun-Karin Kindl, Funktionsoberärztin, Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Pain Management, has been granted venia legendi in the field of anaesthesiology with effect from 3 August 2026.
Mia-Sophie Löhr was appointed as a Regierungssekretäranwärterin at the University of Würzburg with effect from 1 September 2026.
Mareile Mansky, University Archives, was appointed Deputy Head of the Archives with effect from 17 August 2026.
Christine Pierk has been employed in the Central Administration at the President’s Office since 1 August 2026.
Florida Ruci has been employed in the Central Administration’s Accounts Department since 18 August 2026.

Dr Magnus Schindehütte, a specialist at the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, has been granted venia legende in the subject of experimental neuroradiology with effect from 31 July 2026.
Federal Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt has appointed the Würzburg-based lawyer Professor Kyrill-Alexander Schwarz to the Scientific Advisory Board of the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (Federal Agency for Civic Education) for a term of four years, with effect from 1 September. The Advisory Board comprises 14 members from the academic community who support the Bundeszentrale in carrying out its duties. “Political education takes on particular importance, especially in times of increasing polarisation and fragmentation within society. My role on the Scientific Advisory Board is to provide the Bundeszentrale with scientific and expert advice,” said Schwarz.
PD Dr Birgit Sperlich, Akademische Rätin, Faculty of Human Sciences, has been appointed Akademische Oberrätin with effect from 1 September 2026.
Dr Claudia Stock, Akademische Oberrätin at the Institute of Special Education, has been appointed Akademische Direktorin with effect from 1 September 2026.
Dr Stefan Tautz, Akademischer Rat at the Chair of Dogmatics, has been appointed to the Fakultätsrat of the Faculty of Catholic Theology as a member of the group comprising research staff and doctoral candidates, following the departure of Dr Peter Frühmorgen. His term of office runs from 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2027.
Dr Jenny Wegert, Akademische Oberrätin at the Chair of Biochemistry and RNA Biology, has been granted venia legendi in the subject area of Molecular Oncology with effect from 30 July 2026.
