The programme for career advancement in medicine

Through two different mentoring programmes, the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital support early-career academics in their career development. A new round of one of these programmes will begin in January 2027.

In January 2027, the next round of the MENTORING med ONE to ONE career programme will begin at the University of Würzburg’s Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital for women who are planning and wish to advance a research career.

MENTORING med ONE to ONE offers career support to female doctors and researchers from other disciplines who have completed (or are at least nearing completion of) their PhD, as they work towards their habilitation at the Faculty of Medicine and towards future leadership roles.

In addition to one-to-one mentoring with their own mentors working in tandem, participants can expect a wide range of workshops designed to develop key career-related skills. The programme is complemented by various lectures and networking events, where participants can exchange ideas and build professional networks with one another.

The deadline for applications is 31 October 2026; the programme runs for two years, from January 2027 to January 2029.
