Mental health of children and adolescents
04/21/2026On 25 April 2026, the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University Hospital of Würzburg invites to an information afternoon that will address highly topical issues relating to the mental health of children and adolescents.
From 22 to 25 April, experts will meet in Würzburg for the annual congress of the German Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy (DGKJP). "In order to involve the interested public, we are organising a general information afternoon on selected topics at the end of the conference on Saturday, 25 April," announces Professor Marcel Romanos, Congress President and Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy (KJPPP) at Würzburg University Hospital (UKW).
Four lectures will address highly topical issues relating to the mental health of children and adolescents: When are anxieties still normal in everyday life? What strategies can be used to regulate emotions in a healthy way? What impact does social media have on the psyche of children and adolescents? Does the increase in ADHD diagnoses mean that the disorder is being better and better recognised - or is it just a fashion trend?
After the presentations by the KJPPP experts, which are understandable for laypeople, there will be an opportunity for discussion.
The free event is aimed specifically at families, self-help groups and other interested parties. It starts at 2.30 pm and ends at around 4.30 pm. The venue is the lecture theatre of the UKW dental clinic at Pleicherwall 2 in the centre of Würzburg.
Registration is not required.
