The successful historical Würzburg crime series centred around the royal Bavarian investigator Georg Hiebler is entering the next round: the fourth volume has been published under the title "Wildwest in Würzburg" (in German). Once again, the author, Professor Alexander Meining from the University Hospital of Würzburg, is donating the royalties from sales to the "Forschung hilft" foundation. This foundation supports particularly promising cancer research projects at the Würzburg University Hospital.

Meining, a writer in his spare time, is Deputy Director of the Medical Clinic II and heads the Gastroenterology Department. For him, researching historical backgrounds and writing novels is a balance to his day-to-day work as a doctor.

Two Signing Sessions and Charity Reading

Anyone who wants to meet the doctor and author in person and find out more about the "Forschung hilft" foundation will have the opportunity to do so at two signing sessions at the Würzburg bookstore Hugendubel: on Saturday, 25 October 2025, and on Saturday, 13 December 2025, between 11 am and 2 pm.

There will also be a charity reading on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, at 6:30 pm at Himmelspforten Monastery in the Zellerau district of Würzburg.

About the Book

Würzburg, 1891: Georg Hiebler is on the loose. A visit to Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show is supposed to make his engagement to Agathe perfect. But then a murder takes place. A Sioux warrior disappears and Hiebler's former lover Rosa is also in town. Instead of looking after his bride, he begins to investigate among cowboys and winegrowers. Nothing goes as planned, and instead of convicting the murderer, Hiebler soon has to fear for his own life.
