Media: Research at the University of Würzburg in the Press
12/09/2025Whether on television, radio, online or in print - researchers at the University of Würzburg are always have a strong presence in the media. Here are some recent examples.
Philosophy: What is European? This is the question posed by Dag Nikolaus Hasse, JMU Professor of the History of Philosophy, in his book of the same name. In it, he questions widespread self-perceptions among Europeans. Morteza Hajizadeh interviewed the academic about his book. The interview can be found on the New Books Network platform, a website with podcasts on public education.
Animal ecology: To warn the colony of a risk of infection, infected ants change their body odour. In doing so, they seal their death and protect their fellow ants. Researchers from the Institute of Science and Technology Austria and Professor Thomas Schmitt, Head of the JMU Chair of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology, conducted the study. Media such as Spektrum der Wissenschaft and Österreichischer Rundfunk have reported on the study.
