Media: The University of Würzburg in the press
04/14/2026Whether on television, radio, online or in print - the university and its researchers are always well represented in the media. Here are some current examples.
High petrol prices: what the cartel office can do about it - that's the subject of an article on zdf.heute. Law professor Florian Bien, an expert in antitrust law, also has his say.
Young Carer: Six per cent of students look after relatives in need of care, as a survey has shown. The University of Würzburg's Healthy University is a counselling centre for them. Bavarian television reported on this in the Frankenschau programme. The university appears in the media centre report from minute four.
Messianism: Self-proclaimed saviours keep popping up around the world. Professor Christian Wehr explains why they are successful in an interview in DIE ZEIT. Together with theology professor Barbara Schmitz, the literary scholar heads the new Käte-Hamburger-Kolleg at JMU on the subject of messianism.
EU climate policy: "The central instruments of EU climate policy are better than their reputation - and above all effective." Under this headline, researchers write in the FAZ; one of the authors is Professor Joschka Wanner from the Faculty of Management and Economics.
Insects and climate change: Increasingly warm springs may worsen the starting conditions for bees and wasps. This research finding from the Biocentre (Dr Cristina Ganuza, Prof. Ingolf Steffen-Dewenter) has been reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Deutschlandfunk, among others.
