Information Day: Funding for guest stays at the Welz-Haus
09/22/2026On Tuesday 29 September, university staff will have the opportunity to find out on site about SCIAS funding opportunities for accommodating guests at the Welz-Haus and to view the premises.
The Welz-Haus is situated in the immediate vicinity of the Juliusspital and the Schelling Forum, and can be reached in just a few minutes from the railway station or Sanderring.
Anyone who occasionally accommodates guests in Würzburg is warmly invited to visit the premises at Klinikstraße 6, 97070 Würzburg , on Tuesday 29 September between 8 am and 4 pm to see the facilities for themselves.
University staff will then have the opportunity to find out more about SCIAS funding opportunities on the spot. The SCIAS Office subsidises the accommodation costs of visiting researchers at the Welz-Haus.
Dr Hannah Genheimer will give a short talk on this subject in the lecture theatre at 10.00 am and 2.00 pm, followed by a Q&A session.

About the Welz-Haus
It has served as the University of Würzburg’s guest house since 2016. With its 20 self-catering rooms, the Welz-Haus offers researchers – whether travelling with their families or not – a temporary home for the duration of their stay in Würzburg.
