High blood pressure is the topic of the online consultation
09/01/2026A free webinar organised by Würzburg University Hospital and the Main-Post media group will be held on 22 September to answer key questions about high blood pressure.
High blood pressure is one of the most common health conditions in Germany. Many people affected do not experience any symptoms for a long time – yet persistently high blood pressure can have serious consequences: it increases the risk of a heart attack, stroke, heart failure or kidney damage.
Experts from Würzburg University Hospital (UKW) will explain (in German language) how high blood pressure develops, what treatment options are available and what those affected can do on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm in a free online event as part of the ‘Evening Consultation’ series. The hospital is organising the event in collaboration with the Main-Post media group.
Recognising risks, lowering blood pressure
The speakers are Professor Ulrich Hofmann, Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine I, and Dr Victoria Hagen, a junior doctor at the department. Together, they will provide information on the latest findings regarding the diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure and answer questions from participants.
The focus will be on topics such as the possible causes of the condition, the health risks associated with persistently high blood pressure, and measures to lower it. In addition, the experts will explain when medication is advisable and how those affected can measure their blood pressure correctly at home.
