Conference: CuttingGardens is coming to Würzburg
08/04/2026EEG data helps to diagnose epilepsy or determine the depth of a person’s coma. The CuttingGardens conference brings together researchers who work with such data. Registration deadline: 31 August.
During electroencephalography (EEG), researchers in the fields of medical diagnostics or neurology measure the brain’s electrical activity. An electroencephalogram provides a graphical representation of brain waves. An EEG is used, for example, in the diagnosis and monitoring of epilepsy, or to determine the depth of a person’s coma.
To bring together the various disciplines that work with EEG data and to facilitate interdisciplinary exchange, the CuttingGardens conference is being held at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU). The thematic focus is on the preprocessing of EEG data. The conference brings together EEG researchers and creates an open platform for dialogue featuring discussions, plenary sessions and barbecue evenings.
About the conference
The venue is the JMU Chair of Psychology I at Marcusstraße 9–11, 97070 Würzburg. The event begins on Monday, 21 September 2026, and ends on Friday, 25 September 2026. All researchers in Würzburg who work with EEG data are invited. Registration is open until Monday, 31 August 2026.

CuttingGardens is a conference organised by the CuttingEEG Community, which focuses on methods for analysing EEG data. This international event takes place simultaneously at several locations – known as ‘Gardens’ – around the world. The University of Würzburg is hosting a local Garden in the cathedral city for the first time.
