Christmas Cards from the University Library
12/02/2025New Christmas cards with motifs from the collections of the Würzburg University Library are now available. Anyone who buys them is supporting a good cause.
"From Heaven Above to Earth I Come..." - the first sentence from Martin Luther's well-known Christmas carol immediately conjures up an Advent atmosphere. Many people use Advent to choose Christmas cards and send personalised greetings.
The motif cards from the University Library are particularly suitable for this: each card not only brings joy, but also supports the preservation of manuscripts and old prints in the University Library. For every copy sold, 50 cents go towards the restoration of these valuable cultural assets.
The current motifs reflect the diversity of the University Library's collections: from historical views of Würzburg to artistic ornamental motifs and classic Christmas depictions, such as the birth of Christ.
