Children's University: Greek and Roman Heroic Stories
12/02/2025Professor Jorit Wintjes from the Chair of Ancient History will take us back in time at the children's university on Saturday, 13 December: Greek and Roman heroic stories are the order of the day.
The adventures of a small, cunning Gaul and his big, good-natured friend with a penchant for wild boars and menhirs are certainly among the best-known heroic tales of antiquity. But beyond Asterix and Obelix, the history of the Greeks and Romans also contains stories about outstanding men and women.
Professor Jorit Wintjes will present examples of such heroic stories in his children's university lecture (in German language) on 13 December 2025.
In the university's Audimax on Sanderring, the young students will get to know well-known and lesser-known figures who either achieved special things or appeared as role models to the Greeks and Romans for other reasons.
Participation
Admission is free. If you want to be sure to attend, you should book tickets on the Children's University website .
