Designing cross-border online teaching

04/21/2026

As part of the CHARM-EU network, lecturers are invited to submit courses for the Transnational Online Learning (TOL) programme in the winter semester 2026/2027.

TOL is a joint online teaching programme of the European CHARM-EU alliance, in which nine European partners are involved. It enables students to attend courses at other CHARM universities online - without physical mobility, but with international learning experience and ECTS credit transfer as a rule.

The aim is to offer our students a greater variety of topics and transnational perspectives - at the same time, lecturers can make their teaching more visible internationally and reach students from other countries.

Requirements for course submission

  • The course is part of an accredited BA/MA/PhD programme or can be offered as an additional module with a certificate.
  • Language of instruction: English, German, French or Spanish
  • Course takes place fully online or in hybrid format (our regular students on site, TOL students online)
  • Course is accessible via a learning platform (Moodle, Teams, etc.)
  • Interactive teaching formats are desirable (e.g. group work, discussions, joint projects)
  • Teaching content should take up international and intercultural perspectives wherever possible
  • Courses in the following areas are particularly in demand

Sustainability & Climate Change, Digital Skills & Technology, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, European Values & Culture, Transversal Skills (e.g. critical thinking, communication).

Courses must be submitted by 4 May 2026 at the latest.
