CHARM EU: Call for inter-university course offerings
09/22/2026As part of the CHARM-EU network, proposals for courses to be offered as part of the Transnational Online Learning (TOL) programme in the summer semester of 2026 can still be submitted until 11 October 2026.
TOL is a joint online teaching programme run by the European CHARM-EU Alliance, in which nine European partners are involved. It enables students to take online courses at other CHARM universities – without the need for physical travel, but with an international learning experience and, as a rule, the award of ECTS credits.
The aim is to offer our students a wider variety of subjects and transnational perspectives – whilst at the same time enabling lecturers to raise the international profile of their teaching and reach students from other countries.
Requirements for course submission:
- The course must be part of an accredited BA/MA/PhD programme or may be offered as an additional module leading to a certificate.
- Language of instruction: English, German, French or Spanish
- The course takes place entirely online or in a hybrid format (our regular students on campus, TOL students online)
- The course is accessible via a learning platform (Moodle, Teams, etc.)
- Interactive teaching formats are desirable (e.g. group work, discussions, collaborative projects)
- Course content should, where possible, incorporate international and intercultural perspectives
Courses in the areas of sustainability & climate change, digital skills & technology, entrepreneurship & innovation, European values & culture, and transversal skills (e.g. critical thinking, communication) are particularly sought after.
Hybrid Classroom available
Our Hybrid Classroom will be available for use in the summer semester of 2026, and you are welcome to request its use. TOL formats will be given priority. If you are interested in delivering your course in a hybrid format, we would be happy to support you with the pedagogical implementation through our DAAD-CHARM-JMU project.
