Autumn conference of the Criminal Policy Group in Würzburg
09/29/2026On 8 and 9 October 2026, the Autumn Conference of the "Kriminalpolitischer Kreis" (Criminal Policy Circle) will take place at the University of Würzburg. The conference will focus on current challenges in the field of sexual offences law.
Forty lecturers in criminal law from various German universities collaborate within the "Kriminalpolitischer Kreis" (Criminal Policy Group) (KriK) – one of them is Eric Hilgendorf, holder of the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, Legal Theory, Information Law and Legal Informatics at the University of Würzburg.
The experts submit statements and proposals on current and long-term issues of significance in criminal policy and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the Federal Ministry of Justice. Since 2016, they have been meeting at least once a year for conferences dedicated to current topics in criminal policy. This year, the meeting will take place from 8 to 9 October at the Faculty of Law of the University of Würzburg, supported by the law alumni association.
‘Current challenges in sexual offences law’ will be the focus of the presentations and discussions – a topic of great social relevance, as demonstrated not least by the media coverage surrounding the Frenchwoman Giselle Pelicot, the actress Collien Fernandez and the Green Party politician Stefan Gelbhaar.
