On 21 January, a full-day seminar on "Science communication in funding applications" will be held for all JMU researchers at the New University on Sanderring from 9:00 am. The seminar will be held in German.
Science communication is playing an increasingly important role for researchers when it comes to acquiring third-party funding. In this seminar with Kim Otto, you will learn how to effectively plan, implement and evaluate communication strategies from the outset.
Participation
The seminar will take place at Sanderring 2 in room 226. The building is barrier-free. Registration is required for participation.
About the continuing education programme
Science needs a strong voice – the JMU Press Office and Professional Development therefore support all researchers with a further education programme on science communication at. The programme includes four German-language courses and one English-language course on key aspects of science communication. This seminar will be held in German. Multiple registrations are possible.
Science communication at the JMU
JMU also has a funding pot for science communication and the Communicator Award for Science Communication. Researchers planning innovative communication formats aimed at the public can receive up to 1,000 euros from the funding pot to realise their project. The JMU Communicator Award honours outstanding achievements by researchers for their commitment to strengthening the dialogue between science and society with 2,000 euros.
