Quantitative RNA Biochemistry and mRNA Medicines

Date: 07/28/2026, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Category: seminar
Location: building D15 room 01.002-004 Institute of Molecular Infection Biology
Organizer: NUCLEATE
Speaker: Dr. Eckhard Jankowsky

On 28 July 2026, from 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm, Dr. Eckhard Jankowsky will give a seminar entitled ‘Quantitative RNA Biochemistry and mRNA Medicines’ in Building D15, Room 01.002-004, at the Institute of Molecular Infectious Biology.

About

The seminar will highlight key themes from Dr. Jankowsky’s academic and industry work, which has been focused on quantitatively understanding RNA biology, both in vitro and in vivo, and on the development of RNA-based medicines. He will discuss insights from studying enzymes and enzyme complexes that act on RNA, from quantitatively and analytically assessing specificity of RNA protein interactions, from devising quantitative, predictive models based on complex sequencing data, and from developing mRNA-based vaccines and therapeutics. The talk will emphasize broad themes related to creating models and extracting value from high-throughput datasets, and outline directions for mRNA-based medicines.
