We make countless decisions every day - and with each of these decisions we say "yes" to one option and at the same time (consciously or unconsciously) "no" to one or more others. Each of our decisions has consequences. This may not really be dramatic when it comes to the question of whether to wear a jumper or a T-shirt (unless you get a cold afterwards). However, some decisions and their consequences are indeed far-reaching and forward-looking, but cannot always be foreseen or assessed at the time of the decision itself. Especially when it comes to questions about studying and your future career.
Sooner or later in the degree programme, the question arises: And what comes next...? Should I do a Master's degree after my Bachelor's degree? Or would I rather go abroad for a year? Is this internship really useful ... or should I do that one instead? Are my current qualifications sufficient for a future career based on what I have learnt at university? Or do I need to gain further qualifications? What do I want anyway? What can I do? And can I do what is expected of me?
Everyone knows the situations in which you ask yourself these or similar questions and feel stuck instead of making progress. All these challenges and the freedom to make your own decisions create uncertainty and sometimes make us hesitate to make any decisions at all. This is often due to the fear of possibly taking the wrong path.
This seminar cannot take the decision(s) off your hands. However, the seminar will introduce you to methods, tools and techniques that will help you to make the right decision and position yourself well
and set off on your journey.
Numerous individual exercises as well as teamwork and plenary discussions will be used to clarify questions and topics such as Identifying and recognising your own potential, making it concrete and implementing it (more) consistently; self-perception and perception of others (the Johari window); what motivates me; personal success and career planning; formulating and realising goals; dealing with time/time traps; setting priorities; task planning; time management tips and much more.
