Studying social sciences and humanities opens up many potential career paths, but it can also bring with it a degree of uncertainty about where those paths might lead. Building a career therefore requires curiosity, creativity and the courage to seize opportunities when they arise.
In this talk, Katrine Moland Hansen reflects on her own journey from studying social sciences to leadership roles at the intersection of research, technology and policy. She explains why hard work matters, but also why it is important to understand your strengths and weaknesses, to recognise what motivates you and what does not, and to be willing to take risks along the way. Using examples from her work in innovation, artificial intelligence and international collaboration, she illustrates how the analytical skills and understanding of society she gained during her studies provide a strong foundation for strategy, collaborative work and leadership.
