Third university-wide "Professorium" on 9 December 2025

The Professorium is an exclusive event format for all professors at our university. It offers an opportunity to get to know one another across institutes and disciplines, and to strengthen academic networks. Since last year, the event has taken place in the form of a "Crossover Professorium".

Once again this year, researchers from all disciplines are invited to take part, with two faculties at the centre of attention. This year, these are the Faculty of Human Sciences and the Faculty of Management and Economics. Under the motto "Menschen, Medien & Märkte: Wissenschaft vernetzen" ("People, Media & Markets: Networking Science"), they will provide special insights into their work, creating opportunities for future collaborations.

Programme

  • From 3:30 p.m. – Check-in and coffee in the Lichthof
Upon arrival, you will receive a personalised welcome package. Please allow sufficient time for check-in.

  • 4:00 p.m. sharp  Opening of the event in the Audimax (the event will be held in German)

  • Welcome address from the University Executive Board, Prof. Paul Pauli

A special highlight is also planned: the Audimax currently features a historical photograph of a Professorium from the time of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen. On December 9, we would like to take a new group photo of today's diverse professional community to be displayed alongside it in the future. We will gather for the photo before proceeding to the Research Speed Dating in the Lichthof.

Connected in Collaboration: Research Networks at JMU

Collaboration at the University of Würzburg transcends the boundaries of institutes and faculties – it forms the foundation for excellence in both research and teaching. For the first Professorium in 2023, we asked professors from our ten faculties what role networking plays in their daily work. Here are their answers (Video German only).
