Dr Tanja Reiffenrath works in the International Teaching Development department at Göttingen International, the University of Göttingen’s International Office. She advises and supports teaching staff across all faculties on the internationalisation of curricula. Within the European Higher Education Alliance ENLIGHT, she is responsible for the further development of international teaching programmes and their integration into the curriculum. This keynote takes the concept of ‘Internationalisation at Home’ as its starting point and explores the added value of systematically integrating international and intercultural perspectives into degree programmes. It also addresses common preconceptions and uses brief examples to illustrate key factors for success.

Was sind sinnvolle methodische Vorüberlegungen?

15 Teilnehmende)

Workshop by Dr. Lisa Breitschwerdt, Dr. Jörg Schwarz & Kilian Troidl, M.A., Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education, University of Würzburg

Attracting international students to degree programmes in Germany and successfully integrating them into what are, for them, new academic processes and a different everyday university life, presents challenges at various levels: for programme coordinators, the administration, teaching staff and fellow students. In this workshop, we will focus on the first steps in the ‚student life cycle’ with insights to our experiences with onboarding processes based on the master’s programme in ‘Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education’. We will address “onboarding” as support in a multi-stage transition process ranging from targeted marketing through guided enrolment to the orientation week and, finally, the first classroom sessions. Especially in international study programmes, we consider these initial steps to be crucial for the subsequent student life cycle, all the way to successful graduation and entry into the labour market. In addition to providing an opportunity to exchange experiences, the workshop aims to discuss the concerns and questions raised by the workshop participants in depth and across different participant groups, in an open and interactive format.

The workshop will be held flexibly in English and/or German, depending on the participants’ needs.
A short 5-min-questionnaire about the interests and the language preference will be sent in advance.
You can attend at the Z6.

4.00 pm: Closing in the foyer of Z6
