Voice training - getting to know, using, and controlling your own voice

Date: 10/23/2025, 12:00 PM - 10/24/2025, 6:00 PM
Category: Seminar
Organizer: Career Centre
Speaker: Sylwia Bialas

Speaking seems to be a completely natural and self-evident activity. In reality, however, the voice often has a life of its own. It can be too loud or too quiet, shrill or deep, fail to work or cause a sore throat. The good news ist that, just like running, the voice can be trained and its condition significantly improved through practice. In this seminar, you will receive tips and instructions on how to find the right tone for your voice.
This seminar is not suitable for participants who have voice disorders that require specialist medical or speech therapy treatment.

Focus of the seminar:

  • Healthy and correct breathing
  • Breathing types: inhalers and exhalers
  • Posture
  • Automating the correct breathing technique: practical exercises
  • Optimal sound production without effort
  • Support during tone production
  • Recognizing and discussing common voice problems
  • Voice registers (timbre, voice discoloration, effects that influence expression)

Sylwia Bialas studied jazz singing and works as a singing and voice teacher as well as a musician.
Please bring a bottle of water to the seminar, as the exercises require regular drinking.
