Counselling
Whether in the first semesters, halfway through or towards the end of your studies - it is worth pausing in the hustle and bustle of everyday student life and taking a look at your own prospects for your studies and career. At the Career Centre of the University of Würzburg, you can receive professional advice and individual support on various topics relating to career planning and career entry. However, we do not arrange positions or internships (see our take on counselling).
Our counselling services are based on the understanding that a "career" involves continuous, self-responsible profile development for one's own professional career.
In order to fulfil our role as a professionally supportive counsellor, our team regularly takes part in relevant university training courses, as well as the Career Service Network Germany and HRK-Nexus events. This enables us to maintain a dialogue with other Career Service colleagues both nationally and internationally.
Our counsellors have a high degree of professional, communicative and social competence in order to deal with the wide range of counselling issues in Career Service work.
When recognising institutional boundaries, we refer to other advisory bodies and institutions.
The offer is of course free of charge if
- you are enrolled for a study program
- you graduated no more than one year ago.

Process
After making an appointment via the links above, you will immediately receive a booking confirmation bye-mail. Please note the information in the booking confirmation, e.g., that you should read the application tips on our homepage and send us the relevant documents, such as your resume, as soon as possible. You are also welcome to state your wishes regarding counselling (video, telephone, presence). We will then contact you via e-mail to determine whether the consultation should be held by video, in person or by telephone.
Online counselling:
Should you wish an online meeting, we will send a Zoom link prior to the appointment via e-mail.
Counselling over telephone:
If a telephone counselling has been agreed, we will call you at the agreed time on the telephone number you have stated.
On-site counselling:
If you would like to meet in person, please come to our office at the time of your appointment.
