Congratulations! At this year's annual conference of the DGHM in Lübeck, Cynthia Sharma was awarded the DGHM Main Prize. The main prize is awarded to scientists with outstanding and usually long-standing research activity in a current and promising field of hygiene and microbiology.

From 27 June to 1 July, the internationally renowned and annual CRISPR Conference was held at the University of Würzburg, jointly organised by HIRI (Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research) and IMIB (Institute of Molecular Infection Research).

Jörg Vogel, Director of the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB) and of the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research (HIRI) has been elected a full member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Becoming a member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities is one of the most prestigious scientific honors in Bavaria.
