New track record for the “D15 Bikers”

07/12/2024

Team from the IMIB, RVZ, and HIRI collected 6,747 kilometers in three weeks

In this year's city cycling event, 28 members of the "D15 Biker" team collected a total of 6,747 kilometers. The "D15 Bikers" cycled the most kilometers as a team from the University of Würzburg, thus making a significant contribution to the University of Würzburg's good position in the overall ranking, which placed eighth in the whole of Würzburg.

The team is a subgroup of the University of Würzburg. Members of the group are cyclists from the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology (IMIB), the Rudolf Virchow Center (RVZ) and the Helmholtz Institute Würzburg (HIRI). The three institutions are jointly housed in building D15 on the Würzburg Medical Campus, from which the name of the team is derived.

Sylke Kieliba from HIRI was particularly active with 735 kilometers and successfully defended her title of "TOP Biker of the Year" from last year. She was closely followed by Lina Günter, also from HIRI, who took second place with 698 kilometers. Liane Dreher from IMIB secured bronze with 485 kilometers.
