Performance Lecture Nantea Dance Company (Tanzania)

Nantea Dance Company is a Tanzanian-based non-profit contemporary dance company founded in 2015. It provides multifaceted performances and community-based projects and aims to contribute to promoting and developing the Tanzanian dance scene and inspire youths to become ambassadors of growth and social change. The company's goal is to make high-quality dance work and to build a culture where art has its own value.

Samwel Japhet is a Tanzanian dance artist, choreographer, and social entrepreneur who found his voice through dance after a rough childhood of homelessness and abuse. He works at the intersection of dance, storytelling, and social issues, using movement as a tool for artistic expression, storytelling, and an invitation to transcendence and critical reflection on social and political realities.

Tanzanian artist Tadhi Alawi is a dancer, movement researcher and choreographer. After honing his skills and gaining recognition in the local dance scene, Tadhi decided to take his career to the next step after graduating three years diploma of dance at the MUDA Africa Dance School.
 

Workshop Chuma Chuma: Dance Traditions from Tanzania

Tanzworkshop mit Tadhi Alawi und Samwel Japhet von der Nantea Dance Company aus Daressalam (Tansania), die am Vortag im Mainfrankentheater mit ihrem Programm A MOMENT – WAKATI auftritt. IM Rahmen von „Chuma Chuma“ wiederum verbindet das Duo traditionelle tansanische Bewegungsformen mit zeitgenössischen Elementen und vermittelt auf diese Weise, wie wir unterschiedliche Tanzsprachen lernen und erleben.

Musik aus Madagaskar: Konzert und Workshop mit Mihaja Ratovonanahary und Kevin Rabemanisa

Die Veranstaltung verbindet ethnomusikologische Perspektiven, praktische Musikvermittlung und interkulturellen Austausch. Die beiden Programmpunkte bauen inhaltlich aufeinander auf und stellen Musiktraditionen Madagaskars in einem interaktiven Format in den Mittelpunkt.

Sowohl das Konzert als auch der Workshop im Anschluss daran bieten eine Einführung in die Geschichte der madagassischen Musik, ihre Entwicklung im historischen und postkolonialen Kontext sowie die soziokulturelle Bedeutung traditioneller Musikinstrumente und musikalischer Ausdrucksformen heute.
