Tips for entering the German job market
If you want to gain a foothold in the regional labour market, German language skills at level B2 are essential. Even if you find a job where English is the main language, it will make your everyday life much easier if you can speak German, e.g. for conversations with your colleagues or to make friends. The Language Centre at our university, for example, offers free German courses for students.
The German government has compiled all the information you need about visas while looking for a job in Germany here.
Previous work, practical and life experience as well as (non-German) language skills can be important components of an application for a specific job. Your application must also fulfil formal requirements. To provide you with the best possible support, you can find examples and tips for writing an application on our website, as well as various counselling formats.
