If you want to gain a foothold in the regional labour market, German language skills at level B2 are essential. Even if you find a job where English is the main language, it will make your everyday life much easier if you can speak German, e.g. for conversations with your colleagues or to make friends. The Language Centre at our university, for example, offers free German courses for students.
The Federal Government has compiled all the information you need about visas when looking for work in Germany here.
Previous professional, practical and life experience as well as (non-German) language skills can be important components of an application for a specific position. Your application must also fulfil formal requirements. To provide you with the best possible support, you will find examples and tips on writing an application on our website, as well as various counselling formats.
