UNI WÜRZBURG COMMUNITY - 1000 Careers One Story

International Science Community Meeting

Datum: 30.07.2025, 18:00 Uhr

Two times a year the Vice President of the University is inviting the international Science Community of the University to an exchange.

The Vice President of the University, Professor Doris Fischer, is pleased to invite you to the next International Science Community Meeting at the University of Würzburg on 30 July at 6 p.m. - either as host of international guests or as international Postdoc or Professor.

Who: International Postdocs or Professors of the University of Würzburg and their hosts

Need of support: As we have difficulties to direct our information to international guest scientists we would be pleased if you forwarded the invitation to your international collegues and/or international guests)

What: Building a strong international and interdisciplinary science community - networking and exchange as well as getting to know different areas of research! After the opening remarks by Vice-President Professor Doris Fischer, Professor Frank Würthner — Director of the Center for Nanosystems Chemistry (CNC) and Spokesperson of the International Research Training Group 2991 — will give a brief introduction to the collaboration with IISER Thiruvananthapuram (IRTG 2991 'Photoluminescence in Supramolecular Matrices'), followed by four quick and short glances into the work of Indian scientists working in his group. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to join a lab tour and enjoy networking over Franconian wine and cheese sticks.

Where: Centre for Nanosystems Chemistry, Am Hubland, 97074 Würzburg, https://www.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de/cnc/staff-contact/how-to-find-us/
The Institute: According to the CNC mission, scientists at CNC in Würzburg study how specifically tailored molecules organize into larger supramolecular assemblies and further into hierarchically structured nanomaterials. The unique properties that emerge in such complex materials as a result of the interplay of single components are investigated from a fundamental point of view but also developed towards new applications.
