In this workshop, you will review and develop a repertoire of methods, forms, criteria, and task formulations for assessment, evaluation and feedback, starting to design samples to use in your courses. With trainer input, individual-, pair- and group work, there will be phases of input and interaction. We will address and discuss relevant concepts and examples to be modified for your courses. After specifying your examples, we will view these and provide feedback for improvement, discussing remaining questions.

Topics:

  • Constructive Alignment & Learning Outcomes
  • Taxonomies of Cognitive, Affective and Pragmatic Learning
  • Summative and Formative Assessment/Evaluation
  • Forms and Principles of Assessment
  • Evaluation and Constructive Feedback
  • Task Formulation

Methodology: There will be a mix of theoretical input and practical application in the workshop.

  • In the workshop (8 CU), we will talk through, relate relevant concepts and develop examples according to the requirements of your courses
  • In the following self-study-phase (mandatory, 4 CU), you will specify your examples for one of your courses, receive and provide peer feedback on these, and upload the revised results

Key Takeaways for Your Teaching Practice: After the workshop, you will be able to choose and prepare specific types of assessment, evaluation and feedback, including task formulation, matching the levels of the intended learning outcomes for your courses.
