Kategorie: A2
Ort: Online

IN THIS COURSE, YOU WILL

  • explain key didactic principles to a colleague, such as the Constructive Alignment approach, phase-orientation, motivational design and didactic reduction to trigger effective teaching & learning,
  • distinguish and write down learning outcomes and coherent forms of assessment, evaluation, activation, and feedback in a structured lesson plan,
  • select adequate activation methods that promote students’ learning process,
  • integrate appropriate methods for giving and receiving constructive feedback,
  • define learning demands and
  • prepare a written outline to communicate the requirements as well as your support for students in your courses.

In these interactive half-day workshops you work on effectively planning, carrying out, assessing and evaluating academic courses according to the key didactic concept Constructive Alignment: You practise writing learning outcomes, and choose coherent forms and methods of assessment, evaluation, and activation. In order to choose adequate forms and methods, we will focus on additional didactic principles that guide us in matching student activation with the defined learning outcomes, while viewing best practice examples in university teaching and learning. To promote students’ performance, we will also address principles and methods of giving and receiving constructive (peer-)feedback.

Ultimately, you can organize what you expect students to perform in your courses, and how you are planning to support them in their learning process in a written outline.

Workshop structure:

  • Day 1: Planning and structuring your courses via Constructive Alignment; assessing and evaluating student performance (concepts and methods)
  • Day 2: Activating your students (principles and methods); promoting constructive feedback

Requirements: Please be ready to check on the following documents regarding your teaching courses, if you have these, during the workshops: syllabus for your course, lesson plans, other documents to share.
