Inclusive Strong, Wild and Alive (Kinderbuch)

Science for all: How dialogue with society can protect people and the environment

The transformation experiment "Inclusive Strong, Wild and Alive" aims to not only allow scientific findings to circulate within academic spaces, but to actively bring them into society in order to better understand nature and protect it in the long term.

To achieve this, an international team is developing an inclusive, science-based children's book. The children's book will then be published and made freely accessible transnationally. A particular focus is on accessibility for all, regardless of socio-ecological (educational) background.

Following on from the children's book, a university event will take place at which experts will discuss the complex areas of inclusive science and open science. The aim is to make an active contribution to raising awareness of institutional forms of discrimination.

The event also offers inspiration and networking opportunities for JMU staff and students. This will be made possible by the presentation of the results of the first evaluation of the children's book and its effect on children of primary school age. In addition, the association Initiative Mensch und Natur, which promotes environmental protection projects and provides scientific children's books, will be presented. The event will also be enriched by practical partners who will give an insight into their approach to science communication.

The transformation experiment aims to contribute to a more inclusive and anti-discriminatory environment. It makes a socio-economic contribution in the areas of research and the environment. The aim is to create a better overall working environment and to enable creative, innovative, high-quality and sustainable research and environmental protection measures.
