Climate Virtual Exchange (CliVEx)

New Virtual Exchange project on climate change

The project *Climate Virtual Exchange: Enhancing climate awareness in Europe and the Southern Mediterranean Area (CliVEx)* is an EU-funded Erasmus+ project that aims to promote intercultural dialog between students from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean on the topic of climate change. Our university and our Career Center are associated partners in this project. The CliVEx project will run for three years (1st July, 2023 - 30th June, 2026) and is coordinated by UNIMED, the Mediterranean Universities Union. UNIMED is committed to promoting academic cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and the Western Balkans.

Virtual Exchange Climate Justice: From Inequality to Inclusion

The Erasmus+ project Climate Virtual Exchange aims to raise awareness of climate change and climate justice in Europe and the southern Mediterranean region. Universities from 14 countries are encouraging young people to engage in intercultural dialogue, in which they can contribute and expand their knowledge of climate change and climate justice and implement their own climate projects in small groups under guidance.

The topic of climate justice will be addressed with a variety of focal points. The following are currently planned:

  • Introduction to the Climate Crisis and the Concept of Climate Justice
  • Climate Change and Inequality
  • Climate Justice Through a Personal Lens
  • Critical Lens on Climate Initiatives
  • Climate Crisis Strategies: Mitigation, Adaption and Resilience
  • Climate Communication and Advocacy
  • Power and Climate Action
  • Global Politics and Climate Policy
  • Your Climate Actions

Further information about the event can be found here.

Participants who actively and succesfully participate in this Virtual Exchange programme will receive a digital badge and a certificate of participation. It is also possible to earn 5 ECTS credits in the ASQ and FÜG pools. If you would like to receive ECTS credits, you must participate in an introductory and reflection session organised by the Career Centre and take an exam.

The next Virtual Exchange Climate Justice: From Inequality to Inclusion will take place from 9th March to 15th May 2026 (introductory event at the Career Centre on 2nd March).
