With/About Africa: 30 Years of Research and Teaching at the University of Würzburg

In the anniversary year of the Africa Festival, the Forum Africa Centre presented an exciting exhibition on Africa-related research, teaching and cooperations of the University of Würzburg from May 31 to June 3, 2018 in the University Tent.

30 years of intensive and wide-ranging, scientific engagement with Africa and with African partners were vividly presented. The thematic spectrum ranged from natural sciences such as chemistry and biology to social sciences and humanities such as English/American studies, Romance studies, political science and economics.

During the four days of the festival, numerous visitors informed themselves on the more than 20 panels and discussed with the organizers and the student assistants who were in charge of the tent. University President Prof. Dr. Alfred Forchel and Chancellor Dr. Uwe Klug also paid a visit to the university tent.

The exhibition was presented by the Forum Africa Centre and graphically designed and organized by Dr. Julien Bobineau, Philipp Gieg and Timo Lowinger from the Young Africa Centre. We would like to thank all visitors for their interest in the exhibition and the student assistants for their support! Below is a photo recap of the University Tent.

Even though the University Tent has closed its doors, the exhibition continues. Many contributions can also be viewed – in an updated version – here on the Forum Africa Centre website.
