On this page, we offer a wide range of information about occupational fields. In the individual flyers, different areas of application and activities for graduates of the respective subjects are exemplified The fields of activity presented have proven to be promising, both in advisory discussions with students and through networking with our advisory colleagues from the various faculties of the University of Würzburg.

Start-ups for students and graduates
We lend a helping hand to students and graduates navigating their professional opportunities, including the realisation of ideas. Students who are interested in start-ups are provided with individual consulting by the Career Centre and the Servicezentrum für Forschung und Technologietransfer (SFT) regarding start-up ideas and plans.
Furthermore, our programme offers workshops and talks for the acquisition of methodological competences that will be useful for the start-up phase. In cooperation with the SFT, we also hold the Social Innovators Challenge every year.
In addition to a typical research career, this flyer is intended to point out further possible occupational fields. The competences acquired in Biology studies are increasingly asked for in other areas outside the scientific landscape: in industry, in botanical and zoological gardens, in journalism.

Occupational fields for chemists
The competences acquired in a chemistry major are not necessary only relevant for the "typical" laboratory job. The brochure below will outline several further fields and perspectives for chemistry graduates.

Just as diverse as the Humanities subjects at the University of Würzburg are the career opportunities for graduates of these disciplines. In addition to typical fields such as journalism and education, possible fields of application are also in marketing or management departments.
