Understanding, shaping and utilising AI: A practical workshop for students
Artificial intelligence is changing science, culture and the world of work - and faster than many people think. It can write texts, design images, analyse data, conduct conversations and support decisions. Sounds like science fiction? It has long been reality. But what does this mean for you as a student? Where are the opportunities, where are the challenges - and how can you utilise AI today in your studies, research and future careers?
In this two-part workshop - each lasting four hours - you will get an understandable and practical introduction to the world of AI. In the first block, you will familiarise yourself with the basic terms and technologies and learn how AI works. You will explore the opportunities and limitations of this technology and try out practical exercises to see how AI can support you in your studies: in researching, structuring and writing, in translations or in creative text and image design.
The second part of the workshop will deepen the practical application and focus on critical reflection and future perspectives, because AI can do much more than generate texts and images. We also take a look at the professional world: what new fields of work are emerging as a result of AI and how can you build up your own "AI portfolio" during your studies?
The course is deliberately designed to be interactive: You will not just listen, but actively work with AI tools, contribute your own questions and broaden your perspectives in exchange with other students. All you need to bring is curiosity and an open mind.
