IMIB - INSTITUTE OF MOLECULAR INFECTION BIOLOGY

W2 professorship for Emmanuel Saliba; new professorship at the IMIB

05/01/2023

Emmanuel Saliba, an expert in single-cell RNA sequencing, has accepted a W2 professorship at the School of Medicine and will start at the Institute of Molecular Infection Biology on May 1.

Emmanuel Saliba is an expert in single-cell RNA sequencing, a cutting-edge technology that allows cells to be analyzed and decoded individually. His research group is dedicated to studying host-pathogen interactions. To determine the state of individual pathogens and thereby understand the individual differences in host responses and disease progression, the team develops and combines approaches from single cell analysis with imaging and computational methods. He also remains a group leader at the Helmholtz Institute for RNA-based Infection Research in Würzburg.
