WueDive

The project enhances digital teaching. It initiates and coordinates the examination of new learning requirements and opportunities.

The project develops teaching concepts, gamified guides, and collaborative exchange formats tailored to the individual needs of students and teachers.

Instructional Designer@vhb

With his expertise in media didactics, Marcel Schmitt provides support as an instructional designer in the design of vhb courses, finding suitable funding opportunities, and networking with other teachers. The project is aimed at professors who want to develop digital teaching formats for the vhb portals.

CHARM-EU

CHARM-EU Work Package 12

Work Package (WP) on Inter-institutional Professional Development and Educational Research in the CHARM-EU Alliance. This WP strengthens the educationalist community by fostering collaboration, delivering impactful professional development, and establishing best practices for cross-institutional engagement. Colleagues from JMU are warmly encouraged to join this initiative with their ideas and expertise, contributing to a dynamic, international effort to shape the future of higher education through shared innovation and research.

Fellowships for lecturers

Enabling continuous professional development opportunities for lecturers is a building block of excellent teaching. Two fellowships are intended to give interested lecturers the opportunity to take advantage of this further development in an international context.

Reform of the ASQ pool

The pool of general transferable skills will be revised in terms of content and organisation and restructured to create an attractive, comprehensive range of courses.

Revision of the quality objectives and mission statement

The quality objectives adopted in 2013 are currently being revised to create an open-minded, sustainable mission statement for teaching at JMU. To this end, a survey of teaching staff and students was evaluated in advance. A writing group of students and ZBL staff is working on a draft version of the new mission statement, which will then go through various committees.

International Onboarding

An interdisciplinary offer is designed for international students regarding the special features of the German study system and the organization, which also explains the various contact points at JMU.

(Anonymous) contact point for students

The contact point offers university students a contact point for all concerns and complaints relating to studying and teaching, which can also be contacted anonymously if required.

Ten endowed prizes for theses

Performance must be valued. This project provides the faculties with the opportunity to award students for particularly outstanding theses.

Revision of degree programmes beyond Bachelor's, Master's and Staatsexamen

Guest student programmes, exploratory studies or studying a module outside of a degree programme are being revised. Orientation within these offers will be improved in the future.

Interdisciplinary “preliminary courses” on scientific work

Academic work and the writing of theses have always been difficult for many students. By creating an interdisciplinary (digital) offer for students, they should receive support for academic work and writing.

Redesign of the Website about Teaching

The homepage is one of the central digital flagships of a university. The current revision of the “Teaching” website is intended to reflect the current usage behavior; outdated content is being removed to make way for something new.

Completed projects

AI tutors

The Bavaria-wide project led by TUM trained student assistants in the use of AI in teaching. They supported various teaching projects at JMU.

QUADIS

The Bavaria-wide joint project increased the quality of digital teaching and strengthened student-centred higher education.

SEED

SEED explored scenarios for the use of e-portfolios in digital teaching using the Mahara platform.
