What does sustainable work and research mean to you? (not only in the ecological context)

To me, sustainable work and research means professional and academic activities that I enjoy doing and those giving immense satisfaction and gratification. These are the activities that I look forward to each day. Only when we enjoy doing a particular work including research, can the activity be sustainable. I enjoy doing research because there are always new things to find, new ideas to try and new questions to answer. Also research is a team effort and requires multidisciplinary collaboration. Thus participation in research brings me in contact with so many interesting people all over the world and all the time making this work exciting and interesting.
