Examination matters
Only students who are registered as regular participants in the course are admitted to examinations and course-accompanying performance assessments at the Language Centre.
Participation in module examinations is only permitted if online examination registration (OPA) has been completed by the deadline. The registration deadline for the online exam registration (OPA) in WueStudy will be announced in the courses. Anyone who does not appear for the exam despite registering online will be recorded as "failed".
Please note that achievements cannot be registered if the OPA is missing.
You can find out whether credits earned at the Language Centre can be applied towards your studies by looking at the SFB of your field of study.
After the successful completion of the course, course participants will receive a certificate of achievement, which will be issued in digital form with a verification code and sent by email (to the stud-mail address).
The graded examination can be reviewed by the examinees at the Language Centre (media library). It is open to all students who have taken an exam at the Language Centre and can be done about 5-6 weeks after the exam period. The inspection is intended to give you the opportunity to understand the evaluations of your examination performance, to identify possible errors, and to understand them on the basis of the correction notes.
In order to prevent attempts at cheating during the inspection, jackets, bags, mobile phones, and especially writing materials are not allowed at the seat. It is not allowed to take photographs of the examination papers. Inspection can only be granted upon presentation of the student ID or identity card.
What is plagiarism?
A student thesis that has been demonstrably copied in whole or in part verbatim or almost verbatim from one or more papers of others and is nevertheless passed off as one's own achievement is plagiarism. In this sense, plagiarism also occurs if the text was translated into a language other than that of the original when the text was adopted.
If plagiarism is detected
How to proceed in the event of suspicion of plagiarism is specified in the General Study and Examination Regulations for Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programs (ASPO) and the General Study and Examination Regulations for Teacher Training Programs (LASPO) of the University of Würzburg. The regulations stipulate that if plagiarism is detected, the examination performance must be graded as 'insufficient' (grade 5.0).
