SCIAS

For Guests

Become a SCIAS guest

Applying to become a guest at SCIAS is a simple process. All you need to do is fill out our application formand include a short CV of no more than two pages. The SCIAS Board of Directors will then evaluate your application as soon as possible. A decision is usually made within a week.

For accommodating guests at SCIAS there are several financing possibilities:

  1. Funding by SCIAS
  2. Funding by departments
  3. External grants or fellowships (Humboldt, DFG/Mercator, DAAD, etc.)
  4. Direct payer

Subsidies by SCIAS can be granted to cover all or a major part of the Welz Haus rent.

To allow for a productive atmosphere of collaboration and exchange, fellows should generally spend three to twelve months at SCIAS. In exceptional cases, shorter stays from one week onwards are also possible.

During their stay at SCIAS, the guests work closely with one or more faculty members of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität. Fellows may use their visit to deepen existing collaborations with JMU members or establish new contacts.
