Spaces for Digital Teaching and Learning

At DigiLabs@JMU, subject-specific media labs are provided for each of the five specialist group networks participating in the Competence Centre. To ensure the implementation of competence- and action-oriented and flexible teaching and learning processes as well as various experimental functions, the labs are equipped with digital media currently used in schools as well as media with high innovation potential. In addition, all rooms feature movable furniture to facilitate various teaching and learning configurations as well as flexible access to electrical outlets. This makes it possible to divide all rooms into several learning areas for various tasks, promoting skills such problem-solving, exploration, design, decision-making, and assessment.

All rooms are equipped with an 86" Smartboard. It can be connected to a laptop like a projector or external screen via an HDMI, VGA or USB-C cable. The Smartboard also offers touch and pen functions. This means you can work on the Smartboard without any additional devices and develop diagrams or use the built-in PC or your laptop to transfer content to the Smartboard to edit there.

In each room, you will find brief instructions for how to use the equipment on site. However, you can also find all necessary instruction manuals and documentation online on this website.
