Diversity-Audit

The Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) sees itself as responsible for promoting a diverse and equal opportunity educational and research culture in all areas of its organisation, for resolutely counteracting discrimination and thus for providing holistic conditions for the best possible development of the individual potential of its students and staff.

Since February 2022, JMU has been participating in the two-year audit procedure "Shaping Diversity" of the Stifterverband for the promotion of sciences and humanities in Germany. As part of the audit process, the university is striving to expand and re-accentuate its diversity-oriented offerings in line with its needs. Existing fields of work are to be strengthened, but above all suitable new structures are to be established. Participation in the audit takes place in a participatory and holistically oriented working and coordination process of all actors – from the university management and academia to the student body and administration. The goal is to develop a diversity concept, establish a central diversity management, and bundle all existing structures in the area of equal opportunities (counselling services, student initiatives, etc.).
