Visit of Prof. Dr. J. N. Moorthy (IIT Kanpur, IISER TVM)

It was a pleasure to welcome Prof. Dr. J. N. Moorthy (Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur, and Director of IISER Thiruvananthapuram) for a one-week visit at JMU Würzburg.

Prof. Moorthy visited his alma mater, the University of Würzburg, where he previously carried out postdoctoral research with Prof. Waldemar Adam. He traveled to Würzburg to participate in the on-site evaluation of the Excellence Strategy.

The visit provided an excellent opportunity to meet with several Würzburg IRTG 2991 principal investigators and postdoctoral researchers to discuss scientific topics and potential joint projects.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, Prof. Moorthy also delivered an insightful lecture entitled “Rational Molecular Design of Functional Organic Materials” for the Department of Organic Chemistry.
