IRTG 2991 – Workshop on “Luminescence in Molecular Solid-State Materials” with Guest Visit of Prof. Johannes Gierschner
30.05.2025
On 26th and 27th of May 2025 Prof. Johannes Gierschner from the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies, IMDEA Nanoscience, Spain, visited the University of Würzburg. He participated as a guest-expert in a workshop of the IRTG 2991 on “Luminescence in Molecular Solid-State Materials”.
In his scientific lecture on “Emission Color Pureness and Efficiency Regulation in Organic Chromophores” he covered many aspects which are of fundamental importance for the research program of the international research training group. In addition, he also provided a second lecture on “Erosion of Scientific Integrity Fueled by Quantitative Evaluation Metrics” and highlighted the importance of this topic especially for young aspiring researchers.
During the workshop the IRTG2991 PhD students Louis Schramm, Fathimath Nafla, and Jost Inderfurth presented their projects and Simon Soldner and Dr. Sanchari Debnath gave invited talks on the topic of luminescent solid-state materials. The members from IISER TVM joint remotely for the talks and actively contributed to the discussion.
