As a manager, you are responsible for selecting suitable employees, organising teams effectively and promoting their further development. To support you in this key task, the University of Würzburg offers you - as well as all current and prospective managers - targeted training and counselling services on the topic of personnel selection.

Our aim is to work with you to promote the development of high-performance teams and to organise selection processes in a future-oriented, high-quality and legally compliant manner.

We support you in organising selection processes transparently, fairly and at a high level of quality - with these services:

  • Individual counselling and support on questions relating to selection procedures and recruiting
  • Implementation and organisation of events on personnel selection (available from 2026)
  • Practical assistance for your structured and legally compliant personnel selection (including checklists, sample templates, decision-making aids)

Counselling and support

In the course of personnel selection, you will no doubt often ask yourself very different questions. Sometimes it's about fundamental decisions - such as whether a position should be filled at all. You may also be faced with very practical questions: Which interview questions make sense? How can an interview be analysed effectively?

If required, we can support you in areas such as

  • defining suitable requirements for a position

  • the pre-selection of applications received

  • Preparing and structuring selection procedures

  • the follow-up and reflection of selection interviews

We advise you on a situational, confidential basis and with a view to your specific circumstances.

Practical help

In cooperation with the Personnel Service Centre, we support you with the what and how of personnel selection.

  • The Human Resources Service Centre provides you with information on how to carry out selection and recruitment procedures in a legally compliant, process-compliant and timely manner. There you will find corresponding guidelines for binding procedures, responsibilities and necessary documents.
  • How can you perform this task safely and effectively? Peronal Development supports you in the methodical and qualitative design of your selection processes - e.g. in structuring interviews, preparing for interviews or helping you make decisions after interviews. From 2026, you will have access to detailed guidelines as well as supplementary checklists and templates.
