IFEX - Interdisciplinary Research Center for Extraterrestrial Studies

IFEX SETI & UAP Conference 2025

17. - 19. September 2025, Würzburg | Germany

We hereby announce that we have scheduled another conference on the subjects of SETI and UAP at IFEX for this year, to be held from 17 to 19 September. This time, the overarching topic of SETI will also be explicitly included and is therefore, unlike last year, already in the title of the conference.

It is in the nature of both topics that they must be approached in a highly interdisciplinary manner and that they also have societal aspects that must be given increasing consideration. For these reasons, in addition to scientific participation, the participation of socially relevant institutions from politics, significant authorities, key contributors/experience holders and the media is sought. In terms of content, the focus is on discussion and exchange of highly current, important developments and the expansion of cooperation for scientific progress.

This year's conference will be divided into the following categories and corresponding sessions for both topics, which will also form the focal points.

- Technical-scientific developments
- Studies, analyses and important case studies
- Overall social aspects

The exact division of the sessions and the time schedule will be based on the selected contributions. Optional splinter meetings are planned for the last day (Friday) to support networking and cooperation.

The event is open to the university community, invited guests, and media representatives, and will be held in a hybrid format. The venue is the Turing Lecture Hall at the Institute of Computer Science on the Hubland South campus of Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg.
