Book: Hermann v. Helmholtz

Illustrated Book about Hermann von Helmholtz

At the Adolf Würth Center for the History of Psychology at the University of Würzburg, the exhibition on "Hermann von Helmholtz - A pioneer of scientific psychology" was extended until the end of the year due to the positive response. By popular demand of the visitors, the Adolf-Würth-Zentrum now also offers an exhibition catalog at a price of 19.90 euros (plus shipping costs) and describes the book as follows:

"Hermann von Helmholtz (1821-1894) was one of the outstanding scientists of the 19th century. He has done great things for a variety of disciplines, including psychology, and has initiated developments that continue to benefit us today. However, the memories of his work and his personality are fading more and more. Many students, even students of different faculties, can not associate much with the name of Helmholtz. This was a motivation for the Adolf Würth Center for the History of Psychology at the University of Würzburg to design an exhibition on the significance of Helmholtz for the emergence of empirical psychology. The texts and pictures summarized in this volume serve as an exhibition catalog as well as an independent and easy-to-read book about one of the universal geniuses of the sciences, Hermann von Helmholtz."

The catalog can be obtained directly from the Adolf-Würth-Zentrum (zgp@uni-wuerzburg.de, 0931-3188683).
