Information for teachers and examiners

Unitag participants receive an introductory event at the beginning of the semester in which they are given all the information they need for the course. They also have access to a WueCampus course for the Unitag, in which all Unitag-relevant information can be looked up at any time.

Unitag participants are selected by the respective MB department at the suggestion of the schools and enrolled as guest students for one semester. They receive a Unitag guest student card and a guest account. They are not regular students, but may attend courses as part of a prepared course selection (see BayHSchG §42 para. 3). Unlike early students, you do not have the opportunity to take examinations.

Students who take part in the Unitag as a student receive a guest account for the semester that is linked to their private email address. However, in some IT systems (e.g. in WueCampus, instead of this private email address, one of the form sgxxxxx@uni-wuerzburg.de is visible, which acts as a forwarding springboard).

  • The guest account enables, among other things, a login to WueCampus and the use of the WLAN.
  • It is not possible to log in to WueStudy as a student, only anonymously without a login.

This has the following consequences for events and examinations.

Shortly before the start of lectures, Unitag participants usually choose three courses totalling 5-7 semester hours from a prepared course offer that has been created in consultation with the subjects.

  • The guest account does not allow Unitag participants (similar to programme students) to register for courses in WueStudy. Please consider Unitag participants separately if necessary.
  • If you have set up a WueCampus course for your course, the Unitag participants will not automatically be included in the WueCampus course for the above-mentioned reason. However, as they can use WueCampus, they can be manually enrolled in the WueCampus course or enrol themselves (provided this is possible and they are given the enrolment key that may be required).
  • Unitag participants can research the course information stored in the WueStudy course catalogue and are also shown this.

Unlike in the early study programme, you cannot take exams in the Unitag. Consequently, no exam registration is necessary.

In addition to the Unitag, JMU also offers the Early Studies programme as a second continuous support programme for gifted students.

  • In contrast to the Unitag, you choose a subject for an early study programme in which you can study for several semesters. An application to JMU is required and there is an admissions procedure handled by the Gifted and Talented Counselling Centre. Accepted early students are accompanied by a subject mentor who works with them to select courses. Unlike Unitag participants, they can also take part in examinations.
  • From the lecturers' point of view, the same rules apply to both groups for course participation (guest student status, no student account in WueStudy, guest account for WueCampus).
