Early studies

Modalities of participation

  • The Early Studies programme at JMU is aimed at motivated and high-achieving pupils (usually) from the 10th grade of grammar schools in northern Bavaria and neighbouring parts of Hesse and Baden-Württemberg.
  • The school and JMU decide on admission as early students and the selection of courses.
  • The school management will grant the student leave of absence from classes at the school. Attendance of courses at JMU takes place in addition to lessons at the school and is a school event. The extent to which school lessons may be cancelled is decided by the school.
  • Early students are responsible for making up for cancelled lessons. The school may require additional work, e.g. the writing of presentations. Details will be agreed with the subject teacher and the school management.
