Preparation courses for the assessment testAt the Language Centre, three consecutive courses are offered annually in preparation for the assessment test, leading to the spring Latin examination. If they regularly attend the courses and pass the examination, the examinee will be certified as having "secure knowledge of Latin". Duration: 1.5 semesters (block course lecture-free period autumn + semester course winter semester + block course lecture-free period spring) Scope: 3 courses, each course is worth 4 semester hours (SWS) The examination regulations for the academic assessment test to prove reliable knowledge of Latin apply without restriction. The assessment examination

1. Admission requirements
- valid certificate of enrollment for the examination semester
- successful attendance of all three preparatory courses (regular attendance will be checked)
- declaration that the assessment test has not yet been definitively failed (1 repeat attempt)
2. Requirements of the examination
Written exam in two parts (completion time 180 minutes)
- translation of an original Latin text into German (approx. 120 words)
- question section on language, text and culture

Registration for the Latin examination takes place independently of the online exam registration (OPA) for the Latin module examination. The course participants will be contacted by email.
4. Grade and certification
The question part is offset against the translation part in a ratio of 1:2. The examination is considered passed if a grade of "sufficient" or higher is achieved overall. If the exam is passed, the student will receive a certificate of the passed assessment test for submission to the Examination Office.
5. Inspection of the assessed examination performance
The graded examination can be reviewed by the examinees at the Language Centre (secretariat). It is open to all students who have taken part in the assessment test at the Language Centre and takes place approx. 5-6 weeks after the examination period. The inspection is intended to provide you with the opportunity to understand the evaluations of your examination performance, identify possible errors, and to understand them on the basis of the correction notes.
To prevent attempts at cheating during the review, jackets, bags, mobile phones, and especially writing materials are not allowed at the seat. It is not allowed to take photographs of the examination papers. The option of review can only be granted upon presentation of the student ID or identity card.
6. Creditability of exam preparation
The Language Centre preparatory offer + the assessment test in Latin ("secure knowledge of Latin") are available as a module and are part of the general key qualifications (ASQ pool) or the interdisciplinary area for teacher training courses (FÜG). It includes the 3 preparatory courses of the Language Centre + the assessment test (10 credits [ECTS]).
