A Christmas Day in the World of Science
12/20/2023The second gathering of RNAmed students was a festive occasion, complete with spekulatius and gingerbread
Shortly before Christmas 2023, RNAmed students met in Würzburg to learn about each other’s doctoral projects for the first time. These projects reflect the wide range of scientific disciplines represented by the project partners: everything is covered, from the development of novel delivery systems for RNA drugs to the therapeutic use of “gene scissors” in heart diseases and research on RNA viruses. This has laid a solid foundation for future interdisciplinary collaboration.
Following the discussion on December 19, the RNAmed students had the opportunity to ask Professor Mark Helm from Mainz exclusive questions about his career. They then attended his lecture on RNA modifications at Helmholtz Institute Würzburg. The day ended on a cozy note with mulled wine at the Würzburg Christmas market.
